4. Booking, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Last updated: April 2026

At Foot Lab, we want appointments to be clear, fair and respectful of everyone’s time.

Booking an appointment

Appointments can be booked by the online booking calendar.

When you book, we may ask for your contact details, reason for appointment and relevant health information so we can prepare appropriately.

Assessment on the day

Your first appointment will include an assessment. This helps us understand your foot health needs and decide what treatment, if any, is suitable.

You may need a single appointment, routine foot health care appointments or a series of appointments depending on your needs, the level of concern, the number of issues present and how your feet respond to care.

Routine foot health care appointments

Routine foot health care appointments may be recommended every 6–8 weeks, depending on your needs, comfort, risk factors and the condition of your feet.

Specialist or longer appointments

Some services, such as nail reconstruction, may require a longer appointment. These will be booked separately and may be charged differently.

Optional add-ons, such as gel polish, may be available when suitable and where time allows.

Cancellations by clients

Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged at £10.

Late arrival

If you arrive late, we may need to shorten your appointment or rearrange it. The full appointment fee may still apply.

Cancellations by Foot Lab

Occasionally, we may need to cancel or rearrange an appointment due to illness, emergency or circumstances outside our control. We will contact you as soon as possible and offer a new appointment.

Online and phone bookings

If you book a service online, by phone or by email, consumer cancellation rights may apply. However, if you ask us to provide the service within any cancellation period, you may still be charged for services already provided.

Refunds

Refunds will be considered where:

- An appointment is cancelled with the required notice.

- A payment has been taken in error.

- Foot Lab cancels an appointment and no suitable alternative can be agreed.

- A refund is required by law.

We do not usually refund completed treatments where the service was provided as agreed, unless there has been an error or another valid reason.

5. Treatment, Consent and Suitability Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Foot Lab provides foot health care services designed to support comfort, confidence, function and appearance.

Assessment first

Before treatment, we will carry out an assessment. This helps us understand your concerns, general health, foot health, suitability for treatment and whether referral may be needed.

Consent

We will explain the proposed treatment, expected benefits, limitations, possible discomfort, aftercare and any relevant risks.

Treatment will only go ahead with your consent.

You can ask questions at any time and you can withdraw consent at any point before or during treatment.

Suitability

Some treatments may not be suitable for everyone. Suitability can depend on factors such as:

- Diabetes.

- Circulation concerns.

- Infection.

- Medication.

- Skin or nail condition.

- Allergies.

- Pregnancy.

- Recent surgery or injury.

- The severity and nature of the foot concern.

If we believe treatment is not suitable, we will explain why and may recommend that you contact your GP, podiatrist, pharmacist or another healthcare professional.

Scope of practice

Foot Lab will only provide services within the practitioner’s training, competence, insurance and professional scope.

Where a concern requires treatment outside our scope, we will advise you to seek appropriate professional support.

Results

Every person is different. Outcomes can vary depending on the condition being treated, your general health, aftercare, footwear, activity levels and how your feet respond.

We do not guarantee a specific result.

Aftercare

You may be given aftercare advice following your appointment. Following aftercare guidance can help support comfort, healing and longer-lasting results.

If you have concerns after treatment, please contact us.

6. Complaints Policy

8. Marketing Claims and Testimonials Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Foot Lab is committed to honest, responsible and accurate marketing.

Our approach

We aim to describe our services clearly and avoid exaggerated claims.

We will not claim that a treatment can diagnose, cure or guarantee improvement unless we have appropriate evidence and the claim is within our professional scope.

Before and after images

Where we use before and after images, we will:

- Get permission from the client.

- Avoid misleading editing or filters.

- Explain that results vary.

- Use images responsibly and respectfully.

Testimonials

We may share testimonials where clients have given permission.

Testimonials reflect individual experiences and do not guarantee that everyone will have the same outcome.

Vulnerable clients

We will not use marketing that pressures people into treatment, exploits insecurities or creates unrealistic expectations.

Pricing and offers

Where we advertise prices or offers, we aim to make them clear, accurate and not misleading.

9. Professional Scope Statement

Last updated: April 2026

Foot Lab provides foot health care services within the practitioner’s training, competence and insurance.

Our services may include routine foot health care, nail care, hard skin care, corn and callus support, foot comfort advice and appearance-focused foot care services, depending on suitability.

We do not claim to provide services outside our professional scope.

If your concern requires diagnosis, prescribing, advanced treatment, urgent medical attention or specialist podiatry care, we may advise you to contact your GP, pharmacist, podiatrist or another appropriate healthcare professional.

The terms “podiatrist” and “chiropodist” should only be used by professionals who are appropriately registered to use those protected titles.
